tion. Tho deBlgn of tho quilt, which
was In tho frames, was Arkansas Tra
veler, which had been pieced by Mrs.
Norria thirteen years ago, and it was
very unique and pretty. Those at
tending were: Mrs. W. G. Wilson
and daughter, Mis-.: Leila; Mrs. D.
C. Evatt, Mr?. Lillie Newton. Mrs.
Mae Gllesple, Mrs. M. G. Evatt and
daughter; Mr*. Mettle Gillespie and
Miss Zolma ;Wnrdlaw.
Mrs. Norris and daughter. Mrs.
Flosslo Hembreo served a delightful
dinner which was greatly enjoyed by

stitute, which occurred in the last
half of the sixth inning, featured the
game here this afternoon between that
club and Furman university. The
score was 13 to ll in favor of the
team from Virginia.

it was said. Gaines "kicked" loudly
when Vernon called ? man out at
first base, and retorts from the um
pire resulted in a clash. Members
of both team? quickly interfered, and
before the police could get on thc
field the fight was over. Doth Gaines

released when tho game had ended.

Attack of Pneumonia Fatal to
Resident Equinox Mill-Waa
Member Woodmen Circle.
Ar, the rsult of an attack of pneu
monia,- which lasted several days,
Mrs. Julia Kine, of Equinox mill, died
last night at 10:15 o'clock. No fun
eral arrangements had been made
last night. She is survived by her
husband, Mr. O. L. Kine, and four
daughters.
Mrs. Kine waa a member of Maple
Grove N'b. 131, Woodmen Circle, and
the members of that circle es well as
the members of Holly Grove are re
quested to meet at the Equinox mill
hall at 2 o'clock this afternoon, in
order to assist in making funeral ar
rangements..
