LOVE'S WEATHER.
By John Kendrick Bangs.
When we were young, my Heart,
And you had such a wealth of golden
hair,
I used to deem
H$ In young love's blissful dream
The golden days most fair.
But now that we are old,
And on your brow I see those tresses
blest
j All silver gray,
From gold I turn away,
And deem the gray days best!
When there is rain, my Heart,
I hold the torrents close, and know
no fears.
They but repeat
The story old and sweet
Of our commingled tears.
And when the clouds come by
And color all my ways with hues of
night
No doubts or woe
( Are ever mine I know
Where I shall find the light.
i The forecast of my days
I over find within youij dear eyes
pent;
i Or cloud or sun
So long as wo are one,
J My Heart, am I content.

DREAM OF FLIGHT.
By Edith M. Thomas.
"The Dream is from Zeus."
I have always dreamed that I could
fly,
And you you have had the same
brave dream:
A moment's struggle, then, up on
high,
So lightly 'afloat on the ether
stream!
And they, too, dreamed that they
could fly
Sires of the race, who were young
in eld:
They only waked to wonder and die.
As a dream they passed, but the
dream yet held.
So, we all have dreamed that we
could fly
What marvel that man was never
content
Till, overlord in the condor sky,
He found the way that his spirit
went!
It was all in the dream that we 'could
not forget when you swoop to
4 your goal,
Dreams are from Zeus and the wings
supply,
And the body but rollowR the titan
soul.
"Maw, why can't we put up a ham- i
mock between these two trees? Ain't
we part owners of this park?" "No,
dear, it belongs to that fine-looking
man in uniform wtih the white gloves
on his hands." Chicago Tribune.
