The committee in Greenville decided to hold the meeting in the first Baptist church of Co lumbia on January the 11th. There will be two sessions of the Convention, the first meet ing at 4 o'clock inthe afternoon, the secoad at 7:30 in the even ing. Well arranged programs for the meetings are being planned. It is expected that Dr. J. T. Henderson, secretary of the Laymen's Movement in the Southern Baptist Conven tion' will be present, ahd an effort is being made to have Dr. A. J. Nining, of Loidon, Can ada, who recently st-rkred the hearts of the people at thie Bap tist State Convention in '.au rens. Dr. Vining is a ma.A of wonderful power, and evefy ef fort is being made tohave bim present. Dr. Wm. H. Smith, of the Foreign Mission Board. Richmond, Va., will also be present, and everything points to an enthusiastic meeting. All those who contemplate attending should write to Dr.. E. G. Quattlebaum, COI S. Tolbert, of Green 11 ville, S. C.. delivered the Eman cipation Proclamation address ~ at the (colored) Methodist Epis .d copal church. His singular subject, and treated in his tubiquitous style was "What is the matter with Sambo?"
