The St Clair County Teacher' Association on Friday and Saturday presented a very interesting pro gram. One excellent feature every paper was presented. The paper on "Teaehr and Examinations" by Lincoln Avery brought out much dUcussion. While the present law is far ahead of the township system, the writer thought it had some de fects that one or more members of the county board should be school visitors, that certificates should be graded with reference to proficiency. "Our Work" was nicely presented by Miss Jessie Forester. An animat ed discussion iollowed. "School Management" by Harvey Tappan should have been heard by every teacher. Miss Phebe Roy in "Class Exercise in Primary Grammar" re ceived many compliments for the manner in which she conducted the recitation. E. F. Law displayed good taste and judgment in the ar rangement of his paper on "Physi ology." It was well received. Miss Minnie F. Scott told in a fine man ner how a teacher should deport himself In icbool, and Out. The subject of "Uniformity of Text Books" was most, thoroughly handl ed by Frank McNamara. lie gave a plan whereby wo think a uniform ity could bo adopted with saving to the patrons.
