How beautiful and touching they are under the circumstances. She expected when placing them there to i live but a short time:- Come near me, let me lay my hand Ones more upon thy brow, of And let me whisper in thine ear to .Love's last and fondest vow. The lips that breathe these trembling words, When they lie cold in death, Ai And thy dear cheek-can feel no more is Their warm and loving brerth. The maiden sign still looks from It, calm `and customary, as it looked on many a friendly visit, as It lies in many a Sfriendly 'basket. I am gazing, too, up on a card where the nearer parent tells the world she will be "at home" o0e day; and that is nothing new. But 'heg, ls4iPother card, whose mingling thereits a Sery tongue into this speechless pasteboard, enameling fate en common place. It tells us that feel U. The thnes great stages of our 9ing sre the birth, the bridal, the bouri4. To the first we bring only weakness; for the last we'havq nothing but dust. But here at the altar, where life jins life, the pair come throbbing up to the boly man, whispering the deep prom )ee that arms each other with each oth er'shesrt to help on the life's struggle of cars and duty. The beautiful will be there, borrow ing new beauty from the scene; the gay and the frivolous, they and their flouuces, will coue to gaze oh all its seattered thoughts pant for; and age will totter up to hear the old words re peated that to their own lives have giv en Wtte.barm.
