Japanese Paper.— The, Government of
Japan has established large paper mills at
Tokio, where are produced, various de
scriptions of paper. Samples are of qual
ity leaving little to be desired, the surface
being fine and the texture close and te
nacious. Some of the thicker sheets are
almost as difficult to tear as parchment,
while the whole are very pleasant to write
upon. This latter is especially the case
with the very ' thin paper, eligible for cor
respondence involving heavy postage. As
a rale, such paper does not allow a fine
steel pen to travel freely, and it is also
liable to blot, owing to the running of the
ink. The Japanese specimen has neither
of these disadvantages, and would prob
ably find a ready sale if properly placed
before the public. The rates are high,
ranging between about thirty-six and sixty
cents per pound.— [Geyer's Stationer. .

An exchange says the following is the
method of catching tigers in India -. A
man carries a board on which a human
figure is painted ; as soon as he arrives at
the den he knocks behind the door with a
hammer ; the noise arouses the tiger, which
flies in a direct line at the board and grasps
it, while the man behind clinches his claws
in the wood and so secures him.

(or the past twenty years to the treatment of Chronic and Special Diseases, incident to both sexes, bis
success has produced astonishing results. The Doctor believes it his doty to state to the public that he
has many years of his life made it a special study to fully understand the nature of . the diseases as well as
the most effectual treatment for the cure of all troubles of the genito-urinary organs; and he would call
the attention of the afflicted to the fart of his long standing and '-earned reputation as sufficient

■ There are many at the age of thirty to sixty who are troubled with • too frequent evacuation of the
bladder, often accompanied by a slight smarting or burning sensation and a weakening of the system in
a manner tho patient cannot account for. On examining the urinary deposits a ropy sediment will
often be found, and sometimes small particles of albumen Will appear, or the color will be of a
milkish hue, again changing to a dark and torpid appearance. There are many men who die of this
difficulty, ignorant of the cause, which is the second stage of semina' weakness. Dr. S. will guarantee a
perfect cure in all such cases, and a healthy restoration of the genito-urinary organs.
