WICHITA MAESETS.
Receipts of Live Stock at the Union Stock
Yards during the past 24 hours 24
cattle, 4266 hogs. Shipments 225 cat
tle. The cattle supply was very light
and was composed mostly of common
grades of butchers' cows and heiiers
which were sold to one of the local
slaughterers. There is really no im
provement in the market, which rules
very dull. Kansas City closed steady to
strong. There were 19,000 hogs on
Kansas City market which caused a de
cline of 10 to 15 cents; Bulk of sales
here at $3.37 1-2 to $3.40. The close
was steady at the decline.

CATTLE.
The supply -was lieht and was composed mostly of
common trades of butchers cows and heifers. Every
thins: old at fair prices for the quality, and there
seemed to be enough to go around. The market
continues slow and dull, aud shippers are layinc
very low until there are tome slsns of improvement
In eastern markets.

There was a Kood run of hogs today. Early re
ports from eastern markets reported heavy runs and
neavy declines in prices. This market opened a lit
tle weak at $8.40 and several car loads were sold at
these figures, but later another decline of 2tjc whs
noted and ts.375 was the ruling price for the balance
or the day. Kansas City reported a Mr run ami tne
market Italic lower. The market closed steady at
the decline and no hogs were carried over.

The secretary of the Toledo Produce ex
change estimates that the winter wheat
crop will be at least equal 2SO.000.000 bush
els of last year's average weight.
The statistician of the New York Pro
duce exchange estimates the crops of the
United States for 1890 as follows: Wheat,
435,000,000 bushels; corn. 2,111,000,000 bush
els; oats, 653,000,000 bnshels.

By the new Santa Fe time table it will
be observed that the Chicago fast express
leaves here three hours and fifteen minutes
later and arrives in Chicago the following
niorninc, makinp all eastern connections.
The Galveston train leaves four hours and
forty-five minutes later and makes the
same time to Galveston. The Denver train
leaves forty minutes earlier and arrives at
Pueblo at 6:23 a. m., Colorado Springs 7:45
a. m.. Denver 10:43 a. m. This train is
equipped with chair cars. Pullman and
dinini cars and will not stop for meals as
