Receipts of Live Stock at the Union Stock
Yards during the past 24 hours
No Cattle, 630 Horrs. Shipments
No Cattle, 769 Hoars.
There were no cattle on the market to
day except some butchers cows and heif
ers, and a few steers. There is no change
in prices. Good cattle would find ready
sale, but there has been a lack of anything
approaching a sufficient supply of cattle
all this week.

Only about COO hogs were received today
but there were quite a numbr held over
from yesterday und the supply was about
equal to the demand. The packers bought
light and other buyers only had small or
ders, so had there been a very large supply
of hogs on the market they would have
went over. Speculators took hold lightly
and confined themselves mostly to light
hogs. The market was strong and 2
cents higher than yesterday.

Commencing Sunday, July 13.1SIK), the
Missouri Pacific railway will run through
fleepine cars from St. Louis via Pleasant
Hill, Rich Hill, Fort Scott and "Wichita to
Geueseo and from thence to Pueblo. Colo
rado Springs and Denver. This change
was made on account of a great many peo
ple from the east going to Colorado being
desirous of going via Wichita. The train
will stop here two hours, giving all a
chance to view the "Peerless Princess" and
still land passengers in Colorado same
time as if the1 had cone via Kansas City.
It also gives the citizens of "Wichita bleep
ing car service from here to Colorado. Re
turning, it gives us through sleeping car
service" Wichita to St. Louis, and gives the
Colorado people a chance to go east via
"Wichita. This change will undoubtedly
be appreciated by the traveling public,aud
