FINANCE AND COMMERCE
WICHITA MAEEETS.
Wichita, March 5.
The cattlo recepts were exceedingly
light todity caused by the very iiicleuiout
weather. The past week has been u satis
factory one generally, in the cnttlo di
vision, undtho receipts were ubovo the
average, and the prices were good. The
market is exceptionally good on butchers'
cows and heifers of all grades and strong
prices are being paid for them. The de
mand is good and there will probably bo a
pood run of these urudes on the market
jiext week.
There were no hogs iu today owing to
the hloshy and rainy weather. No bales
were consequently made. Had there been
any hogs on sale today, they would have
sold ubout the same as yesterday.
Tim Quotations nore presented ure to give the
t hlpt-r n Ide". of the general range of prices. Tha
various classes and grudesaell wlthlu the limits of
these quotations, according Jo the quullty of offer
ings and the state of the dully markets. 1 beso quo
tations aru only changed when there has oeen a

Artnor Coal, Something New;
e are now convinced that the Arthur
coal should aud hold a position as one of
the best cheap coals In this market. It is
couparatively free from the objectionable
properties round in other Missouri and
Kansas coals. It is a freo burner, yet
hard and does not sIhck ironi age or ex
posure. It is from clinkers of stone, burns
to a fine ash aud makes but very little
soot, and is one of the strongest heaters in
this market,
Iu order to convince you of the above
facts we suggest thst you try the Arthur
coal and if it does not prove to be as above
represented, a trial shall cost you nothing.
We have sold several cars of this coal to
our trade and as yet have not received the
first complaint. Try it and be convinced
of its superior qualities. Price J4.00 per
