Under charge of Mr. (icorge C. Straic
mcycr. Comrade White's idea (if represent
ing the stales lij little girls was admir
ably carried out.
'I hetc were in the procession about
one hundred carriages, besides a large
number on hurse back and a great
crowd on loot.
Mrs. Dillingham's poem was a treat.
The Tress thrice fortunate in obtain
ing the manuscript presents it to its
readers with pride.
Mr. Henry V, Hebhard drove, four
horses of the American lixpress Com

the little girls. The horses terccoered
with blankets: two blue, two grey.

our countrymen haw laid aside their
usual cues, and luc ied with each
other in showing honor and reverence '
for the memories of the dead.
The music was excellent. The num
bers falling to the Symphony Club were
played with the delicacy and finish
which is to that admirable organization
a continuous credit. Mrs. Cruzan and
Mr. Yarfldley's solos were delightful.
The band boys out-did themselves and
were lumultuotisly applauded.
There was an electrical something in
the air last night. At Music Hall it
first showed itself during Mr. Kinney's
.spirited delivery of Wendell Phillips'
magnificent lines. The allusions to
slavery seemed more than mere
allusions to the dead past. They
seemed to thrill with meaning for the
