granted a leave of absence to recuperate
and will visit California,

tour of Maul in the interests of the Ha

ku, returning home the same day.

ful dancing party given at their
homo, last Saturday evening.
The parlors, as well as the lanal

profusely and handsomely decorated
with wreaths, potted and cut flowors.

from all parts of Central Maui were
present and tho evening passed
pleasantly in dancing.

The S. S. Nevadan was due at Ho
nolulu yesterday with five days later
coast mail and is expected at Kahu
lul Monday or Tuesday with 1250 tons
of freight. Tho return cargo will be
5000 tons of sugar.

By an arrangement with tho is
land steamship companies the Kahu
lui Railroad is able to reduce the
freight rates between Honolulu and
its terminal points fifty cents per ton.

from San Francisco January 7.
