The Advertiser's Cure for Sore
head. Honolulu, May 25, 190G.
Editor Advertiser: Sometime ago
you vaunted a remedy, which you
claimed as sovereign against sore
bead in chickens and the general use
of which had brought down the price
of eggs. I am into rented in chickens,
have from 25 to 30 young things eight
to Jon weeks old, and, alas, they have
sorehead. Now fetch on your ro
medy; now is it'H chance. Would
you kindly publich it? Tho sooner,
N. B EMERSON.
For tho sixth time we comply with
requests of this sort. Hero is the
remedy: Cover the sores with la'rd,
vaseline or glycerine. Th's allays
irritation and keeps tiie fowl from
scratching tho raw places.
Take tho affected fowl m hand, pry
open its bill and, using a mowing-ma-cliino
oil can, squirt down its throat
two ets of a well. shaken mixture
thus composed: One tahlospoonful
of kerosene, one tahlospoonful of tur
pontino and two table&poonfuis of cas
tor oil. '
One treatment is usually enough.
If not, repeat. While the fowl ia re
covering give it plciity of mixed
food to keep up its strength. Havo
a pan of fresh water handy.
Sorehead, not swollhead, may be
cured by this treatment. Ed. Adv.'
