were left at the home of County
Supervisor William Henning, a son
at the home of tax Assessor and

to Mr. and Mrs. D. II. Davis.
While the mothers and infants art

A local warrior who had tho ap
pearance of a broken down sailor
started up Main street one evening
this week calling for Joe ihe Russian
blacksmith and vowing he would
have his life or he would have his.
He hadn't gone fur before meeting
the Russian who happens to be about
twice the size of the irate warrior
and. a much younger man. Instead
of saying skidoo he ran for the shop
for protection where ridicule, threats
and persuasion all failed tc bring him
forth. It was a case of the two big
gest cowards of town meeting and
as one ran the other ran after the
first. It cause! no end of tnerri
ment to those who saw the affair and
who know the principals.
Edgar Morton the Deputy Sheriff
of Makawao was in town on business

Whewl where did "Ben" get all
those votes? We haven't heard of
any luaus lately and 1445vote means
plenty "kaukau." Wish you would put
us wise. Ben. "Ye editor" is in the
row, and you'll tir.d his name in the
"scattering" along with many an
other "good and true," so be good,
and tell us how.
The judges of the Voting Contest
made a strike for higher pay at the
last count. It's getting rather
strenuous and when the tight uar
rows down to a few names, we see
where the judges are going to be
worn to a frazzle.
