The minutes of the previous
nceting was read and the same
were ordered approved as read.
Claim demands were taken up
for examination'.
Alessrs. luillcr and Powell, re
presenting the manufacturing com
panies were present, and gave in
formation regarding spreading
wagons and traction engine.
Air. Church moved that the open
ing of the bids for the traction en
gine and spreading wagons be post
poned until 10 o'clock tomorrow

Tho Board was called to order
at 1 P. AI. W. llenning presiding,
Appropriations were taken up for
consideration.
While preparing the appropria
tion bill, Dr. Weddick and Afr,
Case requested permission to report
on the matter of the contamination
of water above the present intake
of the Wailuku-Kahului Water
Works. Permission being granted
a discussion ensued as to the best
methods of keeping the water sup
ply of Wailuku-Kahului pure, and
other sanitary measures
The County Attorney assisted by
the County Engineer was instruct
ed to proparo an Ordinance estab
iishing tho limits of the town
Wailuku.
The County Attorney mado

verbal report on tho W. W. Harris
claim recommending that the conn
ty make a settlement in full wit
Air. Harris by paying over the
amount of $327.90, this being one
half tho value of tho property
claimed. Tho matter was deferr
ed.

The Board was called to order at
7:30 P. AI.
Tho Ciiair ordered tho report o
the County Engineer to ho taken
up for consideration. Tho Cler
was instructed to notifv Air. T. T,
Meyer that a boy had been report
ed employed at Pelekunu at
man's wages, and to have tho same
investigated and report at the next
meeting.
Air. Church moved that it be re
corded that it is tho policy of this
Board that no contract exceeding
$100.00 bo 'entered into for road
work or otherwise without formal
action hy the Board. Seconded by
Mr. Kaiue and carried.
Air. Church moved that the
County Engineer be authorized
with'the approval of tho Chair to
ngage an Assistant, to- work on
the Belt Roads covered by the Loan
Fund, the salary of said Assistant
to bo paid out of the appropriation
on which the work is done. Second
ed bv Air. Haia and carried.
REPORTS: The report of. tho
County Superintendent of Roads
was read. After considerable dis
cussion. Air. Church moved that
fu.ther action on this report be de
terred until 9 o'clock tomorrow
morning, and the Clerk be instruct
ed to notify Air. Sominerfeld to be

sidcration. The Clerk was Instruct

to present a claim for the settlement
of the account In full as per his re
commendation at the next meeting
of the Board of Supervisors.
The report of the County Engineer

the Couniy Attorney to prepare an
Ordlnnne prohibiting the throwing
of ri hoisl, and bottles on the nubile
highways.
The Cleik was instructed to notify
the Sheriff that as yet no payment
has been made to the County -on ac
count of materials supplied to his Do
partnieni fcr uniforms. The agree
ment bwmg that, tho same should be
paid in three monthly installments.
The Treasurer wi instructed to go
to Honolulu at d obtain till llioinforma
tion possible in re Bond tvmeand re
port to the Chairman at the earliest
possible moment. The Chairman to '
call a special tneoting for tho purpose
ot taking action on the matter should
he deem it necessary.

1007, whereby the District of Alaka
wao was-divided into the Road Dis
tricts of East and West Alakawao,
and moved the adoption of the same.

trict of Alakawao at a salary of One
Hundred Dollars a month and fixing
