Kaimuki are not nearly so bad as they
are at Kahului. Except for the . 'skeet
ers, however, there are lots of worse
places to have to live in than the town

The liquor commissioners granted
licenses to all applicants yesterday, ex
cept Antone Borba Jr. This application
was refused on the ground that the sig
natures of a majority of the property
holders had not been secured, and also
that the board is -opposed, as it was
ast year, to granting more than two
saloon licenses in Wailuku.

for all concerned. The steamship people
lost money, as the excursion was not so
well patronized as they expected, and as
it deserved. Billy Field lost money, for
the same reason. Alexander Hume Ford
lost some of his self esteem, as he failed
in his attempt to climb the needle in Iao
Valley.

who is returning home.
