Change in Telephone System.
The Telephone company lias had
a gang of men working for somo
time changing their entire system.
They aro putting in tho metallic cir
cuit over'the entire line, and when
this is completed, it will not bo so
easy for tho rubbernecks to listen to
tlio conversation of their neighbors.
The company propose to get out
a telephone directory when the new
arrangements are completed, and
thereafter customers will only need
to call for a number, instead of the
name of those with whom they wish
to talk. This arrangement is cal
eulated to crratly increaso tho effi
ciency of tho operators, and after
tho telephone users get acquainted
with the new arrangement, they
will appreciate the improvement.
Tho company is desirous -to mako
their system as efficiency as possible
arid thus would ask that anyone
having suggestions to offer address
them to the secretary lioforo tho
new system is inaugurated.
