THE MAUI NEWS, SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 1913.
On Tuesday evening last there
were many bowling sportsmen at
the Tuunene alley. The occasion
was the continuation of the content
that has been going on there for
some weeks past. The contest was
at a tery interesting stage and the
Invinciblcs only led the All-Stars
by 55 points. The difference may
be picked up today and the ultimate
winners are hard to predict.
The Invinciblcs had a total up-to-date
of 2744 on Tuesday evening
last, as compared to the total of
2689 put up for the series, by the
All-Stars. The other two teams,
the Champions and the Victors, are
away in the rear. The big fight is
between the two leading teams and
there is not much give or take to
the final match.
On Tuesday evening last, the
Victors beat the Invincibles by a
score of 1386 to 1339. It was a
great go, and the rooters kept
things going in style. The scores
were: Invincibles Savage, 160-158-194-512;
Grand total, 1339. Victors
Scholtz, 198-177-195-570; Young
139-123-157-419; Betts, 125-126-146-397.
Grand total. 1386.
During the evening Bill Chilling
worth had a go at the Puunene
record, which had stood at 267 for
a long time past. Bill piled up
264, and gave the record a Bhake.
Bill's admirers expect him to beat
the record some day soon.
