Maui Music Club
Ladies of Maul have recently organ
ized the Maul Music Club, which, as
the by-laws of the club state, was form
ed for the object of "the development
and stimulation of musical interest
and understanding among Its memb
ers." The by-laws of the club, which
are printed below, give In entirety the
intentions and regulations of the club:
This Club shall be known as the
Maul Music Club.
The object shall be the development
and Rtlmulatlon of musical Interest
and understanding among its memb
ers. ARTICLE 3.
Its officers shall be President, Vice
President, Secretary-Treasurer and
Chairman of the Program Committee,
to be elected according to Section 2
At the regular, meeting In Sept
ember the President shall appoint a
committee of three, no member of
which shall be an officer of the club,
to nominate a list of officers for the
ensuing year. This committee shall
notlfythe nominees and shall present
said list of names at the annual meet
ing In October.
All elections may be by ballot.
Duties: The president shall preside
at all meetings of the Club, conduct
same by formal order of business and
shall perform all other duties usual to
the office. She shall be chairman of
Executive Committee. In case of her
absence these duties shall be perform
ed by the Vice-President or Chairman
of the Program Committee.
The Secretary-Trasurer shall keep
a correct record of all meetings; shall
receive, read to the club and answer
all communications; notify members
of their election, of dues In arrears,
' and of all meetings of the Club.

Regular meetings shall bo held on
the last Thursday in each month.
except July and August, at such place
as may be determined by the Club.
An annual meeting shall be held In
October, at which time the election of
officers shall take place.
Special meetings may be called by
the President on the concurrence of
One or more open meetings may be
held during the year.
Members shall be notified by the
Secretary of all meetings.
Eight members shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of busi
ness. ARTICLE 5.
Ladles willing to assist In both the
official and program work of the com
mittee shall be eligible to member
ship. SECTION 2
Application for membership shall be
submitted to the Secretary in writing,
endorsed by two memberB. The Sec
retary shall then present such applic.
ations to the Club, a ballot being taken
thereon and the candidate declared
elected, unless three negative votes
Dues shall be $2.00 a year, payable
upon admission into the Club. Any
member failing fo pay said dues shall
be notified when six months In ar
rears and unless dues are then prompt
ly paid shall cease to be a member.
The elective officers of the Club
shall constitute the Executive Com
mittee, whose duties shall from time
to time be denned by the rules of
order. It shall have general control
of all affairs of the Club between ses
sions. SECTION 2
There shall be a program Commit
tee, the Chairman to be elected at the
annual meeting, she to appoint her
own assistants to serve for such time
as she may specify. s
Any member desiring to withdraw
from the Club shall send written not
ice to the Secretary."
ARTICLE 9. .
These By-Laws may. be amended at
any regular meeting of the Club by
a two-thirds vote of the members pres.
ent, provided a written notice of the
desired change shall have been given
at the preceding meeting.

Mies Ruth Whitehead, eldest daught

Malulanl hospital for appenticitis, was

large, mixed audience at the mill
theatre last Saturday evening when

feated Kahuku, the Lahaina giant.
