Head & Co., will snon return from San
Francisco, build a line brick ciilicc on tbe
corner lot, which is now vacant, with a view
of establishing a bankiug business therein.
An institution of this kind has long been
needed ill our village and the want of one
felt very much by our business men and
others. There is hardly a town in the I'nit
cd States, and certainly none with the busi
ness of Prescott, but what supports a bank
aud find it nn invaluable acquisition.

which they did after a little resistance on

ken from him. Mr. Robert swore out a
warrant, before Justice Cart tor, charging
him with robbery, and lie was lodged in jail
until to-morrow inorning at !) o'clock, when

day) before Judge Carttcr, and the prisoner
whs required to give bonds in thu sum of
$1,000 to appear at the next term of the
District court, and in default of which was
compelled to go to jail.
lr. J. XV. Hunt, from the vicinity of Bill
Williams mountain, is in town. Mr. Hunt
owns n line band of sheep which he keeps
in that section of our county, among which
are some 400 fat weathers. "We are inform
ed by Mr. II. that it is almost an impossibil
ity to pick one from the 400 but what are
too fat to butcher. The increase this year
in his Hock exceeds one hundred per cent.
We will venture to say that the eastern and

siderable Indian sign, and where they had
killed a horse at one of their canits.
