Too late for last issue.
John Futardo, a Portuguese boy
fell from a horse on the 26th., and
sustained painfull injuries. The
horse became frightened at an
automobile.
The Kalaheo teachers attended
the Mokihana dance in Uhue last
Saturday night.
The brass band h a s practice
three times each week. They are
making preparations to play at the
Fourth of July meet at the Kukui
olono Park.
The Eleele train conveyed the
Kalaheo people to the Eleele Holy
Ghost feast last Sunday night,
leaving here at 7 p. in., returning
at 1 a. in. A special train was also
furnished for Sunday services.
Supervisor W. D. Mclhyde has
his men plowing the new school
grounds, preparatory to planting
trees.

Too late for last issue.
The Waiinca Foreign Church
holds its annual business meeting
Thursday June 6th. at 4 o'clock
P. M. The most important items
of business will be to vote for
trustees and a preacher for the en
suing year. All persons who attend
t h e Sunday services should be
present.
Senator K. A. Kuudsen took a
flying trip to the capital Saturdav
and returned Wednesday.
There was a birthday party at
Wing Sing Kee's, Sunday i hon

Charlie Kaiuai who boozed on
Friday rode heedlessly on horse
back up the valley, which almost
caused the death of a child. The
horse ran over the child who was
seriously hurt on the head and is
now at the Waimea Hospital. The
reckless rider fled to the mountains
for snfetv but all in vain. lie was
arresled.
The Waimea Chinese Mission's
yard has been beautified by cutting
some of the leafy trees to prevent
leaves being scattered around.
The children who live up the
valley across the river had to be
excused at noon Tuesday on ac
count of the shower which caused
a freshet.
Miss Marie Silva returned Wed
nesday from a vacation spent in
Honolulu.

from his business trip to Honolu
