Forasolidtwoanda half hours the
Lihue , a n d McBryde teams
wrangled and scrapped for su
premacy on the Lihue field Sun
day, the visitors c o m in g out
victorious with the score standing
at 7 to 5. In the last of the 7th
inning a drizzling rain set in which
gradually increased to a down
pour before the end of the 9th.
The game w a s punctured from
start to finish with wearisome
quibblings by both teams, t h e
spectators being evenly divided as
to which team was responsible.
There were some excellent plays
made by both teams, but the ap
preciation of this was insufficient to
offset the general disatisfaction
felt as the result of such everlast
ing interruption. The umpires
were berated by both teams, and
among those who had heretofore
strongly condemed others for
"meddling" with the umpire,
chipped in where they had no more
b lsintss than a suckling pig. Men
who were not even connected with
either team butted in. Men who
ure so unfamiliar' with the rule
book as not to realize that they
have no business mixing in an
argument with the umpire should
be enlightened.
There is absolutely no call for a
wholesale interruption such as
occurcd Sunday, and we trust that
these teams as well as all others,
who feel inclined to ouibble. will
see themselves as others see them.

It now begins to look as though
Makaweli is i n line for the
championship of the second series.
She walloped Waimea's team Sun
day to a frazzle. From general
reports it is learned that the Wai
meas put up an excellent fight, but
the Makaweli team put up one of
the classiest games of the season.
The score of 12 to 2 however would
indicate a walkover for Makaweli.

The biggest score of the day,
however, belongs to the Kawai

death with a score of 19 to 5. The
K. A. C's are in the "best team"
class this series and seem deter
mined to stay put. The plucky
little Koloaites put up a great fight
but the prowess of their opponents
was a bit too much for them.

Mr. E. B. Uridgewater,
Editor Garden Island,
Dear Sir:
In the hope that I may be able
to stir up some interest in an Inter'
Island Baseball Series, I am going
to request of you to kindly put me
in touch with the person on your
island who would lie in a position
to figure on a proposition of this
kind:
I am getting into "touch with
Hawaii and Maui also nnd the
following is my proposition: To
arrange for an Inter island series
to be played in Honolulu between
the picked teams of Kauai, Ha
waii, Maui, and Oahu. This series
to start just as soon after the
different islands get through with
their present schedules, or if pos
sible, during t h e first part of
October. T h e matter of dates,
however, I think should be left
open for the outside islands to "f
cide as they would be the fines
mostly put oilt. Also the vatter-'
of transportation expenses, etc., to
be bourne by the Oahu Baseball
League.
Kindly take up this matter with
the baseball authorities of your is- "
land and keep me in touch.
Sincerely,
A. L. Marcallino,
Manager Oahu 13. B, League.
