THE GARDEN ISLAND.
PORTS!
UNDAYS GAME
KOLOA
It remained for Koloa, a team
which has met defeat at the hands j
of every other team in the series,
to administer the greatest defeat
the Makaweli's have received dur
ing the second series. The doing
up of three Makaweli pitchers and
bringing in ten home runs were
among the spectacular events of
the game. The overwhelming de
feat of this big team by the Ko
loas, partly consoles them for be
ing at the lower wring of the
ladder for, even if they are at the
bottom, they have the satisfaction
of administering a knock-out to a
team where other supposedly much
stronger teams had tried and fail
ed. Aka occupied the box for the
home team and did heady work,
while every other member of the
team, filled his post with equal
ability. In the 8th., two straight
home runs were made in scccession
off Akina's balls. There were none
on bases, and the home runs were
entirely dependent on the batting
which was professional if nothing
; else. The game was well attended
and productive of t li e usual
amount of Koloa enthusiasm.
. . . .....
WAIMEA
McBRYDE
The game of baseball here
between the home team and the K.
A. C's would have resulted in a
complete shut-out of the visitors
had they not made a flunk run.
Not much enthusiasm was shown
during the game, the rooters being
almost entirely silent. The winning
by McBrvde, gives it thechampion-1
ship of the second series. The)
score stood 8-1 in favor of McBryde :
at the close of the game.

The Kilaueas took a farewell fall
'.out of the Waimeas Sunday on the
.latter 's sandy diamond. The visi
tors played with a determination to
'lose n o further chances, a n d
succeeded i n landing the game
with a 'score of 14-6. The home
team remained with the game like
stickine plaster, but the big lucky
Kilaueaites proved too much for
them. The game proved a big at
traction and was productive of ex
tremely energetic rooting, but nil
to no avail, for it became apparent
in the'early part of the game that
the visitors were easy winners.

she undertakes, she'll win too.
