The regular meeting of the Kauai
Loan Fund Commission was held
in Lihue on Wednesday May 7th.
Meeting called to order by Vjco
Chainnan II. D. Wishard at 2 v.
m. May 7th. 1913. Present, Francis
Gay, A. Menefogho, W. D. Mc-
Bryde and J. H. Moragne En
gineer. Minutes of the previous meeting
of March 5th read and duly ap
proved, no meeting having been
held on April 2nd during
absence of the secretary.
Payment Ov Bills.
The following bills were
presented and duly approved
No. 251. W. D. McBryde $75.00
No. 252. Hose M. Castro 54.09
Report Op Secretary.
The secretary made a report to
the Board, showing that with the
payment of the above bills and the
further payment of the sum of
$5250, amount of contract entered
into with the Honolulu Iron Works
Co., for the supplying of the new
steel bridge for the Kealia Stream,
that the total amount of the Ap
propriation of $100,000, for Roads
& Bridges Countv of Kauai, had
The Vice-Chairman made a
statement that he had received a
favorable reply from the Governor
in answer to a letter he had
written him about being granted
immediate use of the money ap
propriated by .the Legislature in
the sum of $60,000, for the erection
of the "County Building" and
that he had taken it upon himself
to communicate with the architects
regarding plans and specifications.
He presented a .letter from them
suggesting certain changes to the
former plans and after a
general discussion a motion was
made and passed that the Viee

call for bids, the same to be open
ed as soon as the necessary ad
vertisement would admit.
Appointment Of Chairman.
Attention having been called to
the fact that upon the resignation
of H. K. Bishop as Superintendent
of Public Works this Board was
without a Chairman, a motion was
made and seconded and duly pass
ed nominating H. D. Wishard as
Chairman of the Kauai Loan Fund
Commission and Francis Gay as
Upon motion the Board adjourn
ed subject to the call of the chair.
