A report (P 896) on the condi dition of the Lihue school build ings water supply etc. was duly received and filed but the principal of the school by general consent was given full authority to distri bute the water of the school to her own satisfaction. A petition (P 895) from Kapaa for the construction of the roads leadirg to the homesteads in Ka-paa-u a was received and action on the same was deferred until this afternoon. A request (P 894) from the homesteaders at Kalaheo t o be supplied with water for household purposes was received and upon motion of Mr. McBryde seconded, by Mr. Gay thJ same was referred to the County Road Supervisors for a report on plans and for an estimate of costs of placing a water system for the use of the petiti oners and residents at the homesteads. The Board acting upon a memo randa sent to it by Mr. H. C. Brown, principal of the Waimea school, resolved as follows: I. Th: County Road Supervisor to put the water system of the school in good order and condi tion and to make it convenient for floor washing and for watering the . . , 2. The County snerin xo scuu men to the school grounds and have them clean the school pre mises besides planting grass on the school grounds. Upon motion of Mr. McBryde seconded by Mr. Menefoglio each of the Kauai public schools was allowed janitor service for the rf Senti-mlier next, and the mwiii" - r clerk was instructed to notify the several principals of the different schools of this action. Upon motion of Mr. McBryde seconded by Mr. Menefoglio the county roard supervisor was given full authority to accept in behalf of the board, the new teachers cottage at Waimea when the same is completed. McBryde moved to appropriate the sum of $3,5CO.OO as additional appropriations for the payment of salaries, wages and labor for the following works, viz: Repair schools etc. Waimea $2,300.00 Special Quarantine Officers 200.00 ard being seconded by Mr. Gay the same was carried. Upon motion of Mr. Gay duly seconded by Mr. Menefoglio the countv road supervisor was duly authorized to repair the culvert on the river street in Waimea pro viding the work could be accom plished within an expense r.ot ex ceeding the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars. The chairman made a report on the matter of securing a right of wav for the new proposed road to run from the Kealia bridge to Ana hola, at the same time showing a mnn nrpnared bv the county road supervisor which showed the pro posed road, and upon motion of Mr. McBryde seconded by Mr. Menefoglio the report was accept ed and the chairman was given further authority to enter into ne. gotiations for the purchase of the right of way from the Makee Sugar Co. the landowners. By a vote a recess at 12:00 was taken to meet again 2:00 o ciock P. M. The report (P 893) of the county road supervisor for the month of July, 1913. was received and order ed placed on file. Allowances for road work in the different districts for the ensuing month, by a vote, was limited as follows: Waimea: Rds. & Bgd. $ 600.00 Koloa: 500.00 Lihue: 6.00-00 Kawaihau: Roads and Bridges, Kealia bridge expen- aim ww - - - ses. $ 500.00 Hanalei: Rds. & Bdg. 600.00 At 3:00 o'clock P. M. upon motion of Mr. McBryde seconded by Mr. Menefoglio the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
