Tenders Crushing Outfit
The Hoard of Supervisors of the
County of Kauai, at Liluie, Ha
waii, will receive bids until 10 a.
m. of Maich 3rd for furbishing the
county with a Portab'e Stone
Crushing Outfit to consist of Crush
er, Gas Engine, Elevator and
Revolving Screen.
The Crusher must he capable of
crushing at least six tons of two
inch rock per hour and must be
capable of turning out a very fine
crushed product.
The Engine must be in every
way suitable for driving the crush
er to its full capacity with ample
reserve power for fine crushing.
The Elevator a n d Revolving
Screen must be suitable for working
in connection with portable bins.
Bids must include delivery F. O.
B. ship's tackle at Port Allen.
All bids must be accompanied
by a certified check covering 5'c
of the amount bid.
T h e supervisors reserve the
right to select flom all offers, re
gardless of price, any machinery
they may deem most suitable.
Consideration will be given as to
time of delivery. Further informa
tion, if desired, will be given by the
undersigned.

Warm Election Coming
According to reports there will
be a merry fight in the Kawaihau
district for the office of supervisor
There is now one candidate defi
nitely in the field (Fred Mendes,
who has already filled his papers),
but it i3 understood that there will
I be three others. Mr. Vou Ekeke
la will not run again, to succeed
himself, on account of the appear
ance of his brother-in-law, Mehe-
ula, in the held. I he other can
didates spoken of are Lawrence
Mundon and Joe Rodrigues. This
alignment would bring into the
contest tor the office two Hawaii-
ans and two Portuguese. It will
be a hot time.
The succesiful Republican in
the primary will be opposed in the
regular election in May by Lewis
Hanohano, Democrat.

The small son of Win. Kuhl
tnann, Lihue, was operated upon
yesterday for appendicitis. This
is the second case in a short time
in Lihue of children being afflicted
in this way.
