Delenate Kalanianole has re-introduced
a bill to authorize and pro
vide for the manufacture, main
tenance, distribution and supply of
electric light and power within the
Lihue district and the Koloa dis-j
trict. County of Kauai, territory of i
Hawaii. The bill authorizes Hans t
Isenbirr:, of Lihue. to manu
facture, sell, furnish and supply
electric light in the Li hue district
and the Koloa district for lighting
the streets, roads, public or private
buildings, or for motive power all
for a term of fifty years. The as
sociation shall have the right to
charge not exceeding the sum of
two dollars per. month to each
consumer of electricity and not
excetding one dollar per month
for ench one-horse power appara
tus. The association will be re
quested to pay the territory of
Hawaii one-half of one per cent of
its gross receipts from all electrit
light or power furnished to consu
Electricity furnished the terri-j
tory of Hawaii, or countv of Kau-j
ai, for public proposes shall be
furnished at not more than ten
cents per kilowatt hour or one
thousand watt hours.

MEET ON APRIL 3
The Territorial Convention ot
the Republican party will likely
be held in Honolulu on April 3,
and it will be desirable that activ
ity be started in the Kauai pre
cincts verv soon. The following
tentative statement regarding the
matter has been given out at Ho
nolulu: , The executive committee of the
Republican central committee met
yesterday afternoon at headquar
ters and took up matters of in:er
est to the party. It was decided
that April 3 be recomtnendid to
the central committee as the best
day for the holding of, the terri
torial convention. Honolulu i s
suggested as the place for the
meeting of the delegates,
The meeting of the precinct
clubs all over the Territory is sug
gested to be held on March 17 for
the nomination of delegates to the
convention and there will be ISO
to be chosen. The priniarv elec
tion is proposed for the week fol
lowing, or March 25.
The schedule of the numbers of
delegates to be elected in each pre
cinct was passed on and will be
presented to the central commit
tee, which will meet at the head
quarters on next Monday at seven
thirty i(i the evening. The meet
ing was verv enthusiastic and
showed that the party leaders are
alive to the conditions political
existing in the Territory,
