relating to tho control of tho disease
known as Spanish Influenza bo and
hereby is suspended from and after
5 o'clock ot tho afternoon of Monday,
February 17, A. D. 1919, oxcept as
to such theatres, churches, and other
buildings within which public gather
ings are held which aro not in proper
sanitary condition or which aro not
properly ventilated so as to allow of
freo circulation of air throughout
such buildings.
PROVIDED HOWEVER, that no
moving picture theatre shall be open
for business during tho hours of day
light, and PROVIDED FURTHER
that before any such theatre, church,
or other building where public gather
ings are held shall open and conduct
business therein, or shall hold public
gatherings therein, tho proprietor.

sued after an examination of such
building, and a determination by the

23rd DAY OF JANUARY, A. D.
1919.
REGULATION NO. 1. That the
proprietors ot all hotels, rostaurants,
clubs, and boarding houoos within
tho Torrltory of Hawaii bo and aro
hereby required to sterilize after
each and every uso thereof, dishes,
glass-ware, cutlory, and table linen
by boiling tho samo tor a period of
at least twenty (20) minutes.
REGULATION NO. 2. That tho
proprietors of soda water fountains,
soft drink and icq-cream establish
ments, counters, and fountains within
tho Territory of Hawaii, bo and are
hereby required to stcrlllzo after
each and every uso thereof, all
drinking glasses, spoons, and other
eating and drinking utensils by boil
ing tho same for a period of not less
than twenty (20) minutes, PROVID
ED, HOWEVER, that where paper
cups arc used in such establishments,
the drinking utensils need not be so
sterilized.
REGULATION .NO. .3. That all
theatres, and churches bo and are
hereby ordered closed, and all other
public gatherings held within en
closed buildings, except public and
private secular schools, bo and are
hereby prohibited.
Tho foregoing regulations sliall bo
in full force and effect from and after
tho 25th day of January, A. D. 1919,
and until revoked by tho Board of
Health.
