Recommendation in Regard
to the Improvement of
School Grounds
Continued from pngu 5)
school ground on each Island; a second
method Is by pasture.
Nearly all tho lawns in Central Park
are lawn-mowed by sheep. Tho sheep
always add an Item of Interest to tho
landscapo and do tho mowing almost
as ofllclently as tho machine.
Tho same Is truo on tho larger grounds
ot somo of our wealthy citizens. Sheep
on school grounds would be of great
Interest to tho children and the in
crease might bo a source of consldor
able profit. It would require scparato
fencing of gardens but would be worth
trying. In tho summer, these sheep
might bo herded from ground to
ground under a special shephord.
In somo cases teachers might wish
to keep a riding horse on the ground,
which would help to keep down grass
also.
( STONES
In the ground of many of tho rural
schools, there arc stones projecting
above tho surface. Ofttlmes, a work
man with a pick and crowbar and
sledgo could improve a school ground
25 per cent in a single day by remov
ing those stones. This should bo douo
at onco.
TREES
lu planting trees, there are two fun
damental questions: First: Their sel
ection; and Sscond: Their location.
Not all trees are equally suitable for
use on school grounds, nor aro trees
which are beautiful in themselves al
ways well suited to be used with cer
tain other trees. An expert landscapo
architect should be asked to preparo
half a dozen or more different plans,
showing a good selection and arrange
ment of trees.
It is a general principle of landscapo
architects that the front of a building
should be left open and that no treos
should bo planted across a beautiful
view. Certainly, If trees aro planted
in such locations, some variety of
palms should be used so that tho view
may bo seen.
In general, trees should bo planted
around th cedgo ot school grounds or
along tho wulks.

Why a Used Car?
THERE ARE MANY GOOD REASONS FOR BUYING
used cars, but there are also mauy good reasons for not buying
them.
THE ONE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO BE CONSIDER
ED in the purchase of a used car, is the responsibility of the
seller. This is true in the purchase of any article of merchan
dise, and especially in the puruchase of an automobile which
has been used, for even the most experienced buyer may go
wrong.
FAITH, NOT ONLY IN THE ARTICLE, BUT IN THE MAN
OR FIRM OFFERING IT FOR SALE, must accompany the
used car purchase in order that the buyer may obtain full
value for the money invested.
OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON OUR HONESTY AND IN
TEGRITY IN EVERY TRANSACTION. WE ARE HERE
TO STAY, AND OUR ONE AMBITION IS TO BUILD UP.
A MODERN AND EFFICIENT ORGANIZATION AND
.GIVE OUR CUSTOMERS THE MAXIMUM VALUE AND
SERVICE FOR THEIR MONEY.
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF A
USED CAR, let us know just what you want. If we have not
got it, we will keep it in mind, and if we do fill the order, you
may rest assured that you will be satisfied.
