at Kapaa by water leaking from the
County's tank below Mr. Hundley's j
residence and asking for some action
to be taken to prevent the further
flow of water on his land, upon the
motion of Mr. McBryde seconded by
Mr. Menefoglio the County Road
Supervisor was instructed to investi
gate into the matter and remedy the
evil.
Official Notices of hearings of Ac
tions to register the titles of certain
claimant 3 to certain lands situated at
Waimea, Kauai, were received front
the Land Registration Court and re
ferred to the County Attorney for
necessary action.
Upon the motion of, Mr. Bettencourt
Jr.. seconded by Mr. Menefoglio the
County Road Supervisor was instruct
ed to prepare and submit at the next
meeting plans for macadamizing the
Olohena Road in the Waipouli Tract,
A request from A. J. Caldeira, Super
Kapaa Homesteads,
intendent of Water Works for the
Koloa District, for an increase of his
pay was received and referred to the
County Road Supervisor for report.
School reports (P1S02) tn buildings
etc, for May last were1 received from
Anahola, Haena, Hanaloi, Hanamaulu
Kalaheo. Kapaa, Kekaha, Kilauea
Koloa, Koolau, Lihue, Makaweli,
Maua, and Omao and were placed on
file.

the Reports of the Treasurer, Treasurer-Auditor,

The Report (P 1S03) of the County
Road Supervisor for May last were
received and filed. It is as follows:
Mana New Road
It was necessary to do quite a bit
of grading and prepairing of the road
for extending the macadamizing of
this road. The crusher was moved
and set up further along and will be
ilile to complete the work as planned
from this set up. Sufficient stone for
llu macadamizing to Weber's place
has already been broken. The road is
! being applied with asphalt as the ma-
I eadamiiiing advances. .
! Waimea District
1 Pitching and general road work has

road.
Some stone has been broken and j
hauled to the County Lot to be used
in the construction of the Nawiliwili
bridge.
Stone and dirt is still being placed
in the sea-wall at Wailua.
Kawaihau District
The work of asphalting the main
road in this district has been going
on throughout the month; the work
being done at the places needing
most attention.
Some small bridge repairs have been
done in the homesteads.
Anahola Bridge
About 300 yards stone have been
broken and will be all crushed this
week, this stone is to be used in the
new concrete bridge at this place.
Tlu foundation work will begin this
we.'k.
Hnalei District
The concrete bridge below Kilauea
School was finished about 10 days ago,
up work is yet to be done.
iiome new flooring has been put on
the Kalihiwai bridge but more is yet
to be done on this bridge, including
renewals of some of the stringers.
N'cw flooring for small bridge at Ku
kui Grove has been placed at bridge
sitd and will soon be put in.
H;na)el Landing Road
Yhe crusher and macadamizing out
fit has been set up and prepairing the
road .for macadamizing is underway.
WATER WORKS:
Puj Ka Pele
A house about 15 feet square was
put up near Haleinaiiu for the men on
the pipe line work. All tools and
materials for this work was hauled up.
About a mile and half of the line has
he n hud out, also a tunnel of about
50o feet in length.
Pipe for said water works has been
ha lied to a point about half way to
Pu 1 ki Pile, and will be taken the
i e t of the way as soon as the weather
permit.!.
Kr laheo
A line of about half mile of " pipe
was put in for the County paying V4
;niire cost.
Schools
'lie new cottage at Waimea is
about completed.
Two new toilets for this school will
be completed this week. Some plum
bing repair work was done in the old
cottage.
The school kitchen at the Lihue
Grammar School was finished and
water connections made.
Wiring of the new Lihue Cottage
was completed.
Some repairing of screens was done
at Hanamaulu.
The Fence at Anahola School was
repaired.
Replies from the Governor and the
Commissioner of Public Lands (at
tached to P 1789) acknowledging the
receipt of an application, and a map,
from the Board for the setting aside
of a piece of land at Wailua for a
park to bo known the Poliahu Park,
and assuring that due attentions will
be given the matter were received and
filed.
t'pon the motion of Mr. McBryde
seconded by Mr. Menefoglio the sum
of $10,050.00 was appropriated, as ad
ditional appropriations, for the pur
poses named below, same to be paid
out of available moneys credited to
the General Fund in the Treasury:

Hr. Menefoglio requested for a
permission to be given for the tem
poray use, by a pastor who will soon
visit Hanalei, of the school cottage
there, and by a vote of the Board the
District Supervisor was given full
authority to act in the matter as he
may see fit.
?Ir. Menefoglio upon reporting rec
ommended that Edward Gardner be
paid GO j (sixty per cent.) of the
amount . actually due him for March
waxes as a laborer duly employed by
the County, and being seconded by
Mr. Bettencourt Jr. the report and the
recommended were uccepted.
