"Service Every Second" ?
The Rexal Store , Honolulu
At a meeting held at the Kapaa
Courthouse recently, the members of
the Kawaihau Athletic Association
voted to play baseball again after the
close of the present "big league" sea
son. The Association also went on
record as not favoring the entry of a
teaminto the soccer league.
The officers for this year include
Father Hubert, president; Fred Men
deB, vice-president; M. S. Henriques,
secretary, A. Branco, treasurer and J.
F. Rapoza, auditor.
Six teams applied for admission to
the league, but only four were admit
ted, as it would be impossible for the
teams to have an adequate number of
games with each other to decide the
championship before the season endB.
The four teams entered in the league
are as follows: Libertys, Pacifies,
Allies and Farmers.
The season will start October 10th
with the Pacifies tackling the Allies
in the first game, and the Libertys
trying conclusion with the Farmers
in the second. All games will be play
ed on 'the Kapaa field, a doubleheader
being staged each Sunday beginning
at l.:00 p. m.

The English class of Filipino
mothers in Waimea had quite a lively
time Wednesday afternoon. It was
their first meeting in their new quar
ters, the Y. M. C. A. hall, and no soon
er had they spied the basket-ball
equipment than "pop went the weasel",
that is to say, the ball, into the bas
ket. When class was over they turn
ed up the victrola for a bit. The
gayety inside drew a crowd of boys to
the door, but asking to be excused
from making any public display that
day, we apologetically closed and
barred the doors.
Elizabeth, our capricious new Ford,
is just getting over an attack of
"wobbles." We really look forward to
seeing her keep to her side of the
road soon. She is also' developing a
bit in some climbing feats.
