THERE Is no mystery about Armco Iron's resistence to rust. Sim
ply the fact that weather cannot disintegrate a fine, solid iron of
99.84 per cent purity.
Ordinary iron .is flaky and the chemical impurities combine with
salt, rain and sun to quickly tear It to pieces.

Y. M. C. A. NOTES
Kauat Y has Just received a ship
ment of ten Illustrated lectures by Dr.
Newell Dwight Hillia, of Brooklyn,
which are being circulated under the
Better America Lecture Bureau
of New York City. These lect
ures are of a high order and the slides
illustrating the subjects are the finest
of workmanship. They interpret
American life as it is to Americans
and would-be Americans. It is the
purpose of the Y to present these
splendid lectures to as many Kauai
people as can be reached, and a special
committee is being formed to facilitate
the entrprise.
The regular night school year be
gins this week and a number of new
classes will be formed. At Waimea
the elasses will be under the direct
supervision of Mr. R. C. Macdonald,
and, the classes at Lihuo will receive
the careful direction of general sec
retary Warner.
In addition to their duties as mem
bers of the public school athletic
league Secretaries Warner and Mac
donald are devoting regular hours to
the conduct of calisthenics and organ
ized games at Kekaha, Kleele, Lihue
and Kauai high schools respectively.
The high school has organized its own
athletic association, and not being
eligible to the public school league.
will conduct its own organized ath
letics under" the direction of Mr.
Warner, assisted by Miss Soule and
the teachers. Already1 some lively
interclass base ball games have been
played, and no doubt the high school,
with its unusually large attendance
this year, will have some pretty
formidable teams to challenge all
comers in various sports during the
year.
Interest in the armory sports in
creases. Last Wednesday there was
an attendance of 38 men and boys.
Business men and lunas will do well
to drop in for a frolic with the regular
fellows who turn out on
and Wednesday nights.

LIHUE UNION CHURCH
The attendance at Sunday school
at Llhue Union reached the number
of fifty last Sunday, marking a steady
increase since the vacation recess.
An adult class is being formed in ad

teacher training class recently organ

less and Miss Elsie Wilcox respect
ively. Mr. H. S. Simpson has been ap
pointed assistant superintendent and
several substitute teachers being now
available a very successful year is
assured.
The choir loft was well filled last
Sunday and a creditable anthem,
"PrUeac Ye the Father," from Gounod,
was rendered. The pastor preached
a forceful sermon, setting forth the
great social reforms in the last century
resulting from the influence of Christ
in the world.
Invitations special and general are
out for the social evening that will be
the occasion at the Manse next Friday
night. All m'embers of the church' and

Standard Guarantees
ORDINARY tires made side by side in
the same factory differ in mileage enor
mously, because the men who build
them differ in the kind of work they do.
If you get a "lucky" cas
ing, it may run between
5,000 and 10,000 miles. The
next may fail under 1,000.
Not so with Miller Tires.
These wear the same under
like conditions. Miller suc
ceeded in building tires uni
form by training champion
workmen to build uniformly.
09 Miller 8 in 100 outwear
guarantees. Thousands of
records furnish conclusive
proof of this.
Take the safe course as
proved by everyday aver
ages. Don't trust to luck.
Get Miller Tires from the

your town. Try a pair on
