senter by the American factors, Lita.
A series of three games eacn was
played, making a total of nine games
per team, not counting practice games.
All games were played on the Mc
Bryde, Koloa and Lihue grounds. - In
soccer two points being counted for
a win, one point each for a draw and
nothing for a lose. Total points pos
sible being 18. The final standing
of the teams being as follows:
McBryde .... .. . 12
Makawell 9
, Lihue .. 8
Koloa ............................ 7
Excepting a few instances due to
misunderstanding of soccer rules
and the constitution and by-laws of
the league, the season was an emin
ently successful one. To this might
be added the dilflculty In procuring
referees with a thorough knowledge of
- the game; there being two games play
ed each Sunday at great distances a
part Probably the games refereed
by Tom Smith and the decisions given
by him were the most acceptable and
thanks are due to him for never miss
ing an engagement. Mr. Fern of
Kealia also refereed some games in a
very satisfactory manner. Both gen
tlemen know how to tun a game in a
fair and square and snappy way.
The standard of ' play this season
was a decided Improvement over the
Spring season. It must be remember
ed that these teams, with a possible
exception of Lihue, have no more
than three experienced players on
their teams, and it has been necessary
to build these up from absolutely
green material and a few men whj
have played American Football. When
-these facts are taken into consider
aatien the standard of play can not be
caviled at and It is believed that a
suitable team could easily be picked
to uphold the honor of Kauai against
any other outside Island team.
The winning team consisted of the
following players:
RIchter, C Goal
Glalsyer, A. It. .. r ,p. b,
Duncan, G l. p. b!
Breckenridge, H l. H. B.
