To Be Installed As
Pastor lihue Union
Members and friends ot the Lihue
Church are especially invited to an
installation service to be held at the
Church Wednesday evening April 20
at 7:30 o'clock. Rev. R. W. Rayless
is to be installed at that time as pas
tor of the Church.
Reverend Baylcss has been the
supply pastor of the Lihue Church
for a little over a year. He came
to Kauai as agent for the Hawaiian
Board and supply pastor of the
church. It .was planned to have him
act in this dual capacity for one
year and at the end of that time to
have him take one of the two
branches of the work permanently
and to secure a collaborator for the
other. These plans have since
been changed so that Mr. Bayless Is
to take charge of both works and to
have an assistant for the Board
At the installation services, the
first to be held on the Island of
Kauai, Rev. I. Kauwai, Moderator of
the Kauai Evangelical Association,
will preside. Rev. S. K. Kaulili will
deliver the charge to the pastor and
Rev. J. P. Erdman will deliver the
charge to the congregation while the
sermon of tho evening will be pre
sented by Rev. Norman C. Schenck
of the Hawaiian Board.

will hold its spring meeting In Lihue
April 20th and 21st.
The Installation service of Rev. R.
W. Bayless of Lihue Union Church
will take place Wednesday night,
A CHRISTIANCITIZENSHIP NIGHT
A "Christian Citizenship Night"
for the young people of Lihue and vi
cinity will be observed at the Molci
hana Hall Friday night April 22nd
at 7:30 o'clock. The Boy Scouts, the
Girl Scouts, the high school students
and the residents of the Japanese
Dormitory are being especially invi
ted. All other young people of this
vicinity who are not in any of those
groups are also urged to attend.
The Lihue Girl Reserves are going
to furnish special patriotic music for
this service. Rev. N. S. Shenck of
the Hawaiian Board will deliver the
address of the evening, his subject
being "Christian Citizenship."
Another feature of this service will
be the report of the Boy Scout del
egates who have been attending the
High Y conference held at Kaneohe,
Oahu. Over 100 delegates from all
over the Territory attended this
meeting and our delegates will have
a very Interesting report to make.
