It says: The continued pressure on the sugar market seems to come almost entirely from an Insistent desire of Porto Ricans to sell their sugars at any price, which, of course, affects Cuba in the sence that whatever stocks are offered necessarily have to go at whatever price prevails. The statistical position with respect to Porto Rico, however, is not alarming, for out of their crop of 450,000 tons almost one-halt has been sold and de livered and a large portion of the re mainder sold as futures and out of the market. Refinery meltings on the Atlantic Coast during the four summer months average over a four year period about one million tons. To expect that this will be almost normal this year is probable and if there are no other sugars available buyers will have to look to the Cuban committee. Although .the sales during the past few days have continued on the same 4.00l basis, with the present pressure on Torto Ricans relieved, the market ought to slowly Improve." . :: BACK ON THE JOB .
