THE UNIVERSAL CAR
The economical delivery service offered by the
Ford Truck often makes it possible for the merchant or'
manufacturer to reach out for business that might other
wise be closed to him. It enables him to expand to
do a profitable business in outlying districts, near-by
villages and suburbs.
A motorized delivery or hauling service broadens
the business field and becomes a payer of dividends
and a business builder for its owner.

In the nnlmal report for 1907 of
tho Hawaii Agricultural Experiment
Stnlon, Van Dlno says, In listing
"Possibly theso fllos have been
brought to Hawaii with Imported
cattlo from tho westorn coast of the
mainland. Dut apparently thoy havo
not become established."
In n report to tho Hawaiian Live
Stock Breeders Association for tho
year 1907, Dr. Norgaard and Van
Dlno montlon tho warblo fly as n
cattlo pest which does not seem to
bocomo well established, apparently
bolng controlled by some natural
enemy. In this roport It is stated
that, "Though no regulation has been
promulgated to that effect, tho of
flco of tho territorial veterinarian
has made It a rulo to thoroughly dis
infect tho hides of all imported cat
tlo immediately after arrival and to
destroy all warbles which at that
time havo mado their appearance un
der or In tho hide."
In tho proceedings of tho Hawaiian
Entomological Socloty, III, page 113,
1915, Is a note by Mr. Ehrhorn rela
tlvo to bsorvatlons mado by him
several years previously on Molokal.
Ho is reportod as saying that the
work of this fly Is only occasionally
obsorvod On Molokal and tho large
numbers of ants on tho cattle rang
es destroy the larvae as thoy emerge
and fall to the ground to pupate.
Whothor established horo or not,
or whether kept controlled by some
natural enemies, it is advisable to
dBtroy all warbles that aro found In
imported cattlo, so as to prevent
or lesson the chances of their be
coming established on tho cattle
ranges of our islands. Besides, Im
ported cattlo aro usually of high
valuation, and for their sakes close
examination should bo mads wnrbles
and dostroyed wherover found, They
may bo destroyed by pressure or by
insecticidal treatment. When the per
foration in the Bkln is large enough
tho maggot may bo forced out by
careful pressure, and stopped on
when It falls to the floor or
ground. If necessary, the opening
may bo enlarged a little by using
a round stick bluntly pointed, as a
probe. If the opening Is small, the
maggots may be killed by rubbing
In a little kerosene, or tho applica
tion of mercurial ointment, np they
have their breathing pores dire-clod
toward the openlns and would eas
ily succumb to the treatment. It thus
becomes an easy matter to destroy
theso pests in cows which come un
dpr dally observation, as In milking
sheds, and all stable men fhould
become familiar with the manne.- of
petits and tho methods of relieving
the cattle of their annoyance. It
should bo an easy nutter to rid n
herd of them If theso precautious
