Last Friday morning a fine nine
pound boy was born to Mr. and Mrs.
Marcus Monsarratt of Koloa. This is
the first child.
Marcus has been serving on the
jury lately . As Juries assemble at
9:30 and as it Is contempt of court
not to appear on time when you are
summoned to serve on the jury, Mr.
Monsarratt was forced to leave his
n.ew heir soon after he came to visit
him and go to the Jury. Nine-thirty
arrived and no Marcus arrived at the
court. The officer called, "Gentle
men of the Jury, please take your
seats." And no Marcus appeared.
The roll call was started. All the
names were called down to the Ms.
and no Marcus appeared. Then the
clerk called "Marcus Monsarratt."
From the outside hall came a faint
"here," and Marcus marched into the
court out of breath, but present. He
had made the trip from Koloa In 20
Fortunately Mr. Monsarratt was
excused from the jury. But the judge
is a real fellow. He said he would
have excused Marcus if he' hadn't
shown up all that day.
