Spauldlng of Kealla, Kauai, whoso husband left on tho Alameda last Wednesday, was an nounced yesterday by cable from Los Angeles. Col. Spauldlng went In an swer to a cablo stating that she was serlousiy ill, and she died about mid night ot Wednesday, when ho was less than a day at sea. The deceased had long been an In valid. Sho was born In Honolulu in March, 1847, and was the oldest daughter of tho late Captain and Mrs. Makee. She was married to Col Spauldlng about thirty-five years ago. FJvo children survive, two sons' and three daughters. Tho sons are Rufus and Jame3 Spalding. The daughters are Mrs. Brodero, the Countess Sennl, and the Countess Bonzl. She was a sister of Mrs. E. D. Ten ney, Mrs. Noonan, Mrs. Dr. George Herbert, Mrs. Hastings, Mrs. Clarence W. Macfarlane nnd Charles Makee.
