Oh ! did you see the flying Johnnies,
Anywhere about this place;
They took their guns and they left very sudden,
"When the blue coats gave them chase.
The rebs have heard of Johnny Logan,
Vvlth the mustache on his face.
There's not a rebel in Dixie nation
But quickly gives him place.
Chorus. The Johnnies run, alia!
They'll Cgbt ns soon no more ;
They must have heard that Logan Is a
coming
With the Fifteenth Army Corpa.
Who has not heard of Johnny Logan,
And his Bonny Boys in Blue;
It does not need any stars to know 'em.
They're known by wlint they do.
They don't go much on bread and butter.
For "hard-lack's" all the go;
They've been all thro' this land of cotton,
And going to Kichtnond, too.
The Johnnies run, aha I
Onr Generals are all good at fighting,
Brave Smith and Walcott, too ;
And when they see Pete Ostcrliaus coming
The rebs look mighty blue.
There's Gen. Woods and Gen. Uazen,
And gallant Gen. Corse,
Better lighting men never went in battle
Or whip'd the rebels worse.
The Johnnies run, ahal
Down South In Mississippi Valley,
We cleaned the rebels out ;
We took their niggers and lots of cotton
And put the rebs to rout
We marched across to Chattanooga,
And put old Bragg lo flight,
lie found there was no use in trying
The 1 lfteenth Corps to fight.
The Johnnies run, aha 1
Joe Johnston tried to stand at Dallas,
But found St would not do,
He eould not oopo with Johnny Logan
And the Bouuy Boys in Blue.
Oh, did yon see our Jolmns' Logan
As he rode along the line?
He wavcdbis hat as he rode on a gallop
And looked so mighty fine.
The Johnnies run, r.ha!
On tlie twenty-eighth of hut July
The Johnnies made a charge;
The Fifteenth Corps boys gave 'em a tanning,
The rebel loss was large.
Our flanking soon gave us Atlanta,
And Johnny Uood looked blue ;
Bay he. "I'll flank Old Billy Shcr
;rmsn,
But Thomas put bini through.
The Johnnica run, ahal
Then wc made a ttriko thro' Georgia,
Down V the Atlantic shore ;
Gen. Osterhstus took the place of Log&a
In tlie Fifteenth Aimy Corps.
A lively time we had near Silicon,
It was at Griswohlville,
The rebs there were islain by thousands,
Tor Walcott fought to kill.
Tho Johnnies run, aha !
You have heard of Gen. Uazen,
And Fori McAllster;
He took St with his Second Division
Of the Fiftcenih Army Corps.
In the Qya'.er beds wo fou:.d good llvint,
And w e enjoyed it line;
And then, oh, what a Jollification
When wo opened the " cracker line."
The Johnnies run, aha!
Old Hardee left Savannah City,
The Mayor asked us in ;
We got thirty thousand bales of cotton,
Tobacco, Rum and Gin.
Gen. Sherman having got Savannah
And the ocean for his base,
Now, Johnnies, look out for South Carolina
And Yankees on the chase.
The Johnnies run, aha I
Soon wo'll be to the rear of Charleston,
And knocking at tho door,
Then look out for brave Johnny Logan
And the Fifteenth Army Corps
Tho Fifteenth Corps is bound for Richmond,
To put the Rebellion down.
And then they'll put us on Provost duty
In that old rebel town.
Tho Johnnies run, aha I
They'll fight us soon no more ;
They must have heard that Logan Is a

With the Fifteenth Army Corps.

HARPER'S WEEKLY,
FOR THE
CAMPAIGN OF II
r
From July 19 to !Nov. 8 (17 Weeks),
will be mailed
TO CAMPAIGN CLUBS ON RECEIPT OF $1.50.
Ob five copies okdehed atone time S1.-I0 each.
"Habper's Weekly has for many years
maintained tho twofold character of an ac
knowledged leader of public opinion, and of a
family journal of tho highest rank in point of
literary and artistic excellence.
Independent of partisan control, it is the
friend and advocate of all measures that tend
to the purification of politics, to tho establish
ment of Civil Service reforms, to the spread of
knowledge and intelligence among tho people,
and to tho general advancement of humanity.
The Eepublican Party, as the organized politi
cal exponent of these principles ha3 received
its cordial sympathy and support; but Ham
per's Weekly has never surrendered into
party keeping tho right of private judgment,
nor will it hesitate to criticise or condemn
"whatever, within or without party lines, may
appear to be at variance with the fundamental
principles of right.
Harper's Weekly believes tho nomination
of James Q-. Blaine to lave been a grave po
litical mistake, and that his election would, at
this critical period of the nation's history, en
danger the influence of Eepublican principles.
It believes that the election of Grover Cleve
land, who, as the Governor of the State of
New York, has evinced the executive qualities
of a sagacious, unpartisan statesman, would
promote the objects for which the Eepublican
Party has contended, and ho will therefore re
ceive the earnest and cordial .support of Har
per's Weekly.
In 'literature, Harper's Weekly aims to
furnish a rich, variety of reading-matter, at
once instructive and entertaining. Its serials,
short stories, sketches, and poems, by native
and foreign authors of popularity and distinc
tion, give it a character unequalled among illus
trated -weekly journals. The most fastidious
taste will find nothing in its pages to which
objection can be made.
The illustrations in Harper's Weekly
present an inexhaustible range of subjects
trenchant political cartoons and comics, art
pictures, in the highesr stylo of wood-engraving,
portraits of eminent persons, sketches of
domestic and foreign travel and exploration,
graphic delineations of striking current events,
out-door Eports and games; in short, of every
thing that can be portrayed by the hand of tho
skilful artist. Harper's Weekly is thus,
from week to week, a pictorial chronicle of the
time.
It will be the aim of its conductors in the
future, as it has been in the past, to keep Har
per's Weekly in the van of illustrated
weekly journals and to present a constant im
provement in all those features which have
gained for it the confidence, sympathy, and
support of its large army of readers.
Harper's Weekly for July 19, Tvill begin
an illustrated serial story by the popular nov
elist Captain Hawley Smart, entitled " From
Post to Finish; a Eacing Eomance."
