walked to his home after tho assault,
and Dr. Cornish was summoned to
examine his-wound;, but did not deem j
it advisable to perform an operation,

peared-to bo slowly recovering, though
in a comaloso state, -and?arly on the
morning of that' day1 ho went into

been crushed in like an eggshell, the
brain protruding. Notwithstanding

it was apparent to tho physicians that
