From tho, steam whaler North Star,

from Mr. It. W. Meyer, Molokai,
and kindly allowed us to copy the
lottcr. , The letter is dated March
, "I hasten to inform you, that a
boat's crew of six American' sailors,
belonging to the Btcam whaleship
North Star, have! been cast ashore
on this island, nt'Kaluakai, an un

hunger, leaving tho other threo men
behind on' account of exhaustion.
'' Tho crow consists of tho third
mate, tho boat-btcerer, and four
men, tho boat-ateerer being one of

my place ; after refreshing himself a
little, loft again very soon, with
food, water and horses, to bring his
comrades up, but unfortunately
these throe men 'did not remain in
tho same place where they had
agreed to do, and after searching
all 'day- yesterday were not found.
The boat-steerer, with tho natives,
'food and horses', returned last night
at about 10 o'clock.
" Ho.left again this morning with
three of my sons and some' natives,
-water, food, etc., and I sincerely
hope .that their whereabouts may be
discovered to-day, and their suffer
