tho discaso, if proper precautions
Symptom: Dullness of tho eyes,
lassitude, thirst, retention of tho
urino, partial paralysis of tho legs,
tho horse resting on ono hind foot
and changing frequently.
Treatment: Place the animal in a
well ventilated stable; cover with
a light blanket; avoid cold drafts of
air; give -J oz of sweet spirit of Nitre
in two gallons of warm water, every
threo hours until he urinates; then
amo dose every twelve hours, give
no hay or grain; give bran mash or
sloppy bran and hot water, with a
bottle, every five or six hours.
Feed green grass sparingly or better
still tho "Pulelo" or milk vreed; do
not walk him about, but have him,
when he can, walk if he chooses to.
Put a piece of thin muslin ovor his
eyes to keep of tho flies. Sixth or
seventh day, give small feed ofl
oats and bran, and don't worry or
apply to any doctor; tho animal
must not be allowed to drink cold
