Tliis .vessel is a schooner yacht of
trim ''design, mid of slight, though
staunch, sonstruction. John I).,
Adolph 1$. , nnd C. A. Spreckcls are
the owners of this craft. She has
been put together under the super
vision or Captain Mntthew Turner,
nnd is expected, when completed, to
combine as far as possible, all the
desirable qualities of a vessel of iier
class. To this end, no expense will
be spared. Work on her has licen
progressing rapidly, and she is at
present ready for launching. Her
spars arc yet to be placed in position,
nnd it is intended to have a portion
of the interior fitting completed
before she goes off the stocks.
In size this new craft will be larger
than most of the yachts of the bays.
The Aggie is a trifle smaller, and
of Dr. Mcrritt's Casco is
Over all she will measure
. eighty feet. At the water line she is
a few inches over seventy-two feet.
She has 21.05 feet breadth of beam.
The following are some additional
details of her. construction : Area of
ballast linc, 728 square feet G inches ;'
area of immersed midship section,
G1.5U square feet. The center of
buoyancy is 3.20 feet aft of the
longitudical center. The greatest
transverse section of the hull is G. 10
feet aft of the, center of buoyancy,

15 feet aft of the center of buoyancy.
She has 74.83 tons displacement,
and draws eight feet three inches of
wntcr. She will be schooner-rigged,
nnd the fplloing are the .lengths of
her spars: ''Bowsprit out-board, 20
feet; foremast, extreme length, 72
feet ; mainmast, 75 feet ; main boom,
'50 feet; top-masts, 22 feet; fore
gaff, 22 feet ; fore boom 2G feet 0

13 feet. All the rigging is to be '

fitted under the superintendence of

She will belong to both the San
Francisco nnd 'Bohemnin Yacht
Clubs. It is tho intention of the
owners tp take some Jong voyages in
their craft. One of tho first trips
will bo to the Hawaiian Islands nnd
tho South Pacific.
