FORETOLD IN A DREAM.
, Sunday night Jesse A. Beard of
this' city dreamed that his brother,
T. J. Beard, of Chambers county,
Ala., visited him and upon being
asked how things were tit home, told
him that the family were all well, but
that some thief had set fire to his out
houses and everything on his pre
mises was destroyed xocpt the tesi
dence. Monday morning he received
:i letter from his brother which con
tained the exact information which
he had dreamed that his brother had
told him in person. Tho smoke
house, stable and barn had all been
destroyed, together with considerable
grain and provisions, and it was with
difficulty the residence was saved.
The exact amount of the loss is not
known, but Mr. Beard informs us
that there was no insurance.
A celebrated physician recently
was the recipient of a letter from a
lady asking medical advice, and giv
ing a detailed account of her diseases.
The lcttci was written on several
sheets of foolscap paper very closely,
and by actual measurement con
tained four"1 yards of symptoms for
the doctor's perusal.
