Found Drowned. On Saturday
morning at seven o'clock a native saw
the deaxl body of a foieigner Moating in
the water near Brewer s wharf. The
body was taken to the station bouse and
theie identified as that of John P. Wren,
forty-seven years old, a stowaway who
had) conic from San Francisco on the
Ella. He had parted from his fiiends
at 1 A. m. on Fridiy, with the intention
of sleeping under the boat of the Ella.
He had taken several glasses of beer
during tile night, and the inference is
that he walked over the dock. The de
ceased had been nearly twenty years in
the United States Navy, and intended
to ship, on Saturday, onboard the Alert.
