sugar, 1039 kegs of sugar, COO bags of
rice, 01 bags ofawa root, and 29 pieces
of old junk. Total domestic value S12,

The principal enteitainment at a ic
cent "gauleu party" at Santa Barbara
was a "doughnut race," prizes being
awarded to the four persons who l'ust
succeeded in eating the doughnuts as
presented to them attached to a string
suspended fiom a line and agitated by

wished life and prosperity to Hawaii,
and Mr. Keau desired an increase in the
poi contracts. .Hawaiian ship of war,
a pleasure yacht, and a floating calabash
battery were seen in the distance.
There is a piospcct of a musical
treat in store for Honolulu folks, as Cav.
Umberto Crisplnl arrived by the Ala
meda. His specialties are the violin,
verrophon and the xylophon. He pos
sesses testimonials from most of tho
com ts of Europe and the East, and lias
somo excellent notices from Loudon
papers in which lie was styled the
" king of xylophons." Orchester train
ing lias been another feature in his suc
cess, and it is to be hoped that we shall
soon have an opportunity of healing
Yesterday's electioneering consisted
of an address by an express driver, on
behalf of the Government, and an ad
dress from Mr. Simon Kaai, who with
Mr. Bush, is said to have resigned Ills
position as a Noble. Mr. Kaal, Mr.
Bush and Mi- Holokahiki aro said to
form a ticket, the name of a fourth gen
tlemen being used without Ills consont.
Mr. ICaai addressed the assembled
