A nativi: boy fell from a tree in a

M. C. A., on Thursday evening, at
tracted a crowded house. The read
ings were unusually good, that by
Mrs. 15. F. Dillingham being loudly
applauded. The quartette by Mrs.
J. Simmons, Miss Kate Lewis,
Messrs. Ileriickand Burgess received
a well deserved encore. The enter
tainment was very successful and
shows that they are highly appre
ciated. Tnr. Mariposa sailed punctually at
noon yesterday. The usual specta
tors wcro there, and the usual scenes
of partings occurred. The band
played in honor of Colonel and Mrs.
Sprcckcls, who invited their friends to
share the champagne. The music of
the band was occasionally interfered
with by the steamer's whistle. Judge
Widcniann produced a round of ap
phiuse by his nimbleness and agility
in sealing the steamer's Bide, man'
thinking that some members of the
Athletic Association could not have
done it better.
