The "correct" (?) reporter of
the Gazette is off his base again this
morning. He says "tho Hi'i.i.r.Tix's
statement Unit dipt. Iluylcy lias
been lftiietl from the Government
fervicc is a mistatcment." The
lln.i.i.nx lias made no such state
ment. Last evening, the member of St
Andrews Cathedral choir had one of
their old time sopinl gatherings at
the residence of Mr. Thomas May.
Tho early part of the evening was
devoted to tho practising of anthems,
etc., after which came refreshments
and social chat. Tho attendance
was good and a very pleasant cvcti
ing was passed.
Minister Gibson in the House yes
terday impugned the veracity of the
whole newspaper world, not except
ing even the satellite of that sphere
that advertises Iub own viitues. It
was all, too, on account of n state
ment made in the House a few days
ago regarding the water supply of
the Kalawao Leper Settlement, and
all the press did was to faithfully re
port the statement and a contradic
tion thereof made at the same time.

One of the most remarkable uses
to which paper lias recently been
put, except that of printing news
papers, is the manufacture of zylo-

uset to which zylonito is adaptable
are almost infinite but perhaps the
most cxtraodinary is tho manufact
ure of cathedral windows. The basis
of zylonito is a plain white tissue
paper, made from cotton or cotton
and linen rags. The chief difference,
however celluloid and zylonite is
that tho former cannot bo rendered
transparent, nnd therefore cannot,
like the latter, bo made to imitate so
many different substance. Court

of people who complain from a mere
