When the Alameda came along

and then. After a few remarks by
Rev. Mr. Oggel the meeting soon
afterwards adjourned.

DEATH OF REV. V. P. ALEXANDER.
News was received by the Ala
meda to-day, of the death of Rev. W.
P. Alexander, on the 18th Inst., at
the lcsidence of his son, S. T.
Alexander, at Oakland, Cnl. Mr.
Alexander had been sick but a few
weeks. His wife and thtce of bis
clilldicn Samuel, Mnry and Lottie,
were with liim at the time of his
death.
Mr. Alexander came to these
islands as a missionary in 1832; he
was visiting his son nl the lime of
ills dentil.
