WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMINC UPON US?
Like :i litter at night it steals In upon
us mutuaics. Many pcrcons have pains
about the chest and shins, and sometimes
In the back. They feel dull and sleepy;
the mouth hat a bad taste, especially In
in tho morning. A sort of sticky sltmc
collect about the teeth. Tho appetite Is
poor. There is a fi cling like a heavy
and on the itomaeh; sometimes :i faint
all-gone sensation at the pit of tho
stomach which food does not nat!sfy.
The eyes aic sunken, the hands and foot
become cold unci feel clammy. After n
while u cough sets in at llrst diy, but
after a few mouths It Is attended with u
greenish colouicd expectoration. The
alttii'tcd one feels tired all the while, and
sleep does not seem to alVoid any test.
After a llnio hu becomes ncivous, Irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil foie.
bodlng-r. Thcrc"ls a giddiness, a soi t of
whirl lug sensation in tho head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
costivu; tiio skin is dry anil hot at times;
the blood becomes thick :tnd stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
colouicd, depositing a sediment niter
standing. There is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with u sweetish
taste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
cyos; there Is n feeling of great prostra
tion mid weakness. All of these symp
touts arc in turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this (liscaso in some of its varied
forms. It has "been found tint medical
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Some lime treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but nono of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with succcs",
because the remedy should bo such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oigans, nnd upon the stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) all of these organs paTtakc
of this disease and require a remedy
that will net upon all at the same time.
Selgcl's Curative Syrup acts like achnrm
in tills class of complaints, giving almost
immcdlated relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing in tho coin,
mtinlty where they live show in what
estimation the article is held.
John Archer, Haithlll, near Sheflleld:
I can conlhlently iccommciid It to all
who may be sull'erlng fiom liver or
stomach complaints, having tho testi
mony of my customers, who have derived
great bcnellt from the Syi up and Pills.
The sale is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Wobb, 111, York btrcct,
Belfast: I havo sold a large quantity,
and tho parties have testified to its being
what you represent it.
J. S. Metcalfe, 55, llighgate, Kendal:
I havo always great pleasure in recom
mending tho Curative Syrup, for I huve
never known a case in which it has not
relieved or cured, and 1 havo sold many
grosses.
Robt. G. Gould, 27, High Street,
Andover: I have always take a great
Intciest In your medicines and I havo
recommended them, as 1 have found
numinous cases of euro from their use.
Thomas Chapman, West Auckland:
f lind that the trade steadily increases.
1 sell more of your medicines than any
other kind.
X. Dairoll, Clun, Salop: All who buy
it me plcasul, and recommend it.
J03. Rdkwill, A. 1. S., Khigsbridge:
The public seem to appreciate their
great value.
A.Annstead,Market Street, Dalton.ln
Furnc&s: It Is needless for me to say
that your valuable medicines havo great
salo in this district greater than auy
other I know of, giving great satis
faction.
Robt. Lai no, Mclksham: I can well
recommend tho Curative Syrup from
having proved its cllic.icy for indigestion
lnyielt.
Fdockhcim, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 20, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Soigel's Syrup. I havo vciy much
plcasuro In still bearing testimony to the
very satisfactory results of the famed
Syi up and Pills. Mot patent medicines
die out with me, but Mother Seigel has
had a steady sale ever since I com
menced, and is still In as great demand
as when I first began to sell the mcdl.
cine. The cures whicU have come under
my notlco aro chielly those of liver
romnlalnt and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says It Is tho only thing wMch has
bonclUed him and restored him to his
not trial condition of health after bolng
unable to preach for a considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much nddlctcd to costlvencss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgcl's
Pills aro the only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills causo a
reaction which Is very annoying.
Mother Selgcl's Pills do not leavo a bad
ntter-oH'cct. I have much pleasure in
commending again to sull'cring human.
Ity Mother Selgcl's medlclnts, which
aio no sham. If this letter Is of any
seivlco you can publish It.
Yours very truly.
(Signed) William S. Glas-j, Chemist.
A. J. White, Esq.
lCth August, 1883.
Dear Sir, I write to tell j ou that Mr.
Henry Illllicr, of YntesTmry, Wilts, in
orms mo that ho suu'orcd from a severe
form of indigestion for upwards of four
years, and took no end ot doctor's mcdl.
uino without tho slightest benefit, and
declines Mother Selgcl's Syi up which ho
got from mo has sacd his Hie.
Yours truly,
