"WHAT is THIS DISEASE THATls
COMING UPON US?
Like ii thief nt night il steals In upon
us w) tires. Jinny persons Imvo pniii9
ubout the clipst mill -lde, uml jometlmcs
hi the kick. Thuy feel dull mid sleepy;
the nioiith luisu had t:isto, especially in
in the morning. A sort of sticky nl'linc
collects about lliolccth. Thenppetile is
poor, 'l'lieie Is u feeling like n lic.ivy
load on the stomach; sometimes a faint
all-gono sensation lit the pit of the
stomnch which food does not satisfy.
The eyes lire sunken, the kinds nnd feet
become cold ami feel I'liinuny. After n
ulillo u cough nets in ut first tliy, but
ufter ii few months it is nttended with u
greenish colouied expectoration. The
allllctcd one feels tired nil the while, mid
sleep does not .seem to afford nny lest.
After n time he becomes nervous, irrita
ble, mid "looniy, ami lias evil foie
boilings. There is u giddiness, n soil of
whirling sensation hi the head when
rising up suddenly. The bow els becjnno
costive; the skin Is dry nnd hot at times;
the blood becomes thick uml stagnant:
the whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, thu urine Is scanty and high
coloured, depositing n sediment after
standing. There is frequently n spitting
up of the food, sometimes, with n sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
taste; this is frequently nttended with
palpitation of the heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eyej; there is a feeling ot gicat prostra
tion ami weakness. All ot thc30 .symp
toms are In tuin present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease In some of Its varied
forms. It his been found that medical
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Some have treated itfora liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment h.ivo been attended with success,
because the remedy should bo such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of thepo
oignns, ami upon tho stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is l cully what
the disease Is) all of these otgans paitakc
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at tho same time.
Selgel's Curative Syrup acts like nchnrm
in tills class of complaints, giving almost
luimeillatcd relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing in the ebm
muiiity where they live show in what
estimation the article is held.
John Archer, llaithlll, near Sheffield:
I can confldentlv lecomiuend It to all

what you repiesentit.

Friockhelm, Arbroath, Forfaishiie,
Sept. 23, 188a. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter lecommcnding Mother
Selgel's Syrup, r havo very much
pleasure in still beaiing testimony to tho
very satisfactory lesults ot the fiuned
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
die out with me, but Mother Seigel 1ms
had a steady sale ever blnce I com
inenced, and Is btlll in as great demand
as when I llrst began to sell the medi
cine. The cures wlilch have come under
my notice are chiefly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says It Is the only thing wVlch has
benefited him and restored him to hla
normal condition of health after bolng
unablo to preach for n considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
event niauv other cases, but snaco would
not allow. A near friend ot mine, who
is very much addicted to costivencss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgel's
Pills are tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills causo a
reaction which is very annoying.
Mother Selgel's Pills do not leave a bad
aftcr.eil'eet. I have much pleasure in
commending again 'to sullcrlug human,
ity Mother Selgel's medicines, which
sue no sham. If this letter is of any
scrvico you can publish it.
Yours very truly.
